On normal days, the temple is open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with three closures for pooja. Darshan and archana take place during the open periods.

The official portal asks devotees to arrive at least one hour before a darshan period closes, because queues are stopped ahead of the closing time.
Timings can change. Temple timings and darshan arrangements may change during festivals, special observances and administrative circumstances. Verify the latest schedule on the official HR&CE temple portal before travelling.
Current official notice
Current published schedule
This notice's period has ended. Check the official HR&CE portal for the schedule that applies now.
The notice sets the darshan schedule for the main deity (Moolavar) date by date. On most days in this period it lists:
- to
- to
- to
- to
Several dates in the notice have different or shorter hours. Check your exact date in the official PDF before travelling.
The HR&CE portal also publishes one-off changes for individual days, and links to a separate festival timetable for festival periods. When a notice and the normal-day table differ, follow the notice for the dates it covers.
Why you may see different timings elsewhere
Different websites list different hours for Srirangam. For example, the Ministry of Tourism's Incredible India page lists sessions such as 1:15 to 6:00 PM, which do not match the HR&CE schedule. We do not merge conflicting schedules into one. The HR&CE Department administers the temple, so its portal is the authority we follow and link to.
Planning around the closures
- Early morning: the 6:00 to 7:15 AM period is short, so arrive well before 6:15 AM to have darshan before the 7:15 AM closure.
- During the closures: the closures apply to darshan. The outermost enclosures are lived-in streets of the town, so you can use the time to walk them. Our route through the seven prakarams suggests what to see.
- Festival days: processions and special darshan arrangements change the day. See the festival calendar for when major festivals usually fall, then check the official timetable.
- Eclipses and special rituals: temples commonly close during eclipses. Check the official portal for announcements.
For what happens inside the sanctum during the day, see daily rituals. For queues, sevas and the shrines to visit, see darshan and pooja.

The official portal asks devotees to be present one hour before the darshan closing time.
Why do different websites show different Srirangam timings?
Schedules change with festivals and official notices, and many websites copy older timings. We follow the schedule published by the HR&CE Department, which administers the temple, and link to it so you can check the current version.
